Post Hydrotesting.
Well I need it and I'll bet it won't be long before someone else does too. May as well organize some info. Does anyone already know of a good local place? I've heard lots of poor stories about going to a shop that sends it out and then you're stuck waiting a few months.

Anyway I did a search and found some links. These are listed on PBN too in one of the subforums.
When to test - http://www.hydrotester.com/when.htm
How to read the label - http://resources.carltech.com/PTD/e11194.html

Then I also found this which looks like a gov't listing of testing sites. Looking through the PDF of shops in NY there are 2 in Highland that offer hydrostatic testing. Maybe someone knows of them or can check them out. http://www.phmsa.dot.gov/portal/site/PH ... tfmt=print

Duh. Why not look at the tanks? One of mine had a sticker for this place which still needs to be shipped out to Ohio but they guarantee that they'll be returned within 2 days of receiving them and it costs like $25 once you figure in shipping and valve removal. http://aquahuthydro.com/

Furthermore I had another thought. Someone I work with goes scuba diving so I can ask for info and see what direction that takes me.

Enh, being lazy wins. Went to Champion anyway. They said a week or two because there's a lot of tanks going out. The way I see it, if anything happens at least I have someplace local to bitch. If I went anywhere else then it's kinda up to me to double check the shipper and hydro tester. Plus they'll take the reg off the tank we couldn't undo.

They have a lot of stuff there. Shame Dragon's Den doesn't carry anything anymore. Also a shame they didn't have much for my markers. Oh well, time to hit Ebay for a few things.
